No Time

I'm in a hurry.  I've been doing lots of things that I'll have to write about later.  But, in the meantime, check out The Bicyclist for more episodes and watch my Les Schwab commercial.

Here's a still from the commercial:

Finally! A real love story!

If you haven't been keeping up with "The Bicyclist", episode 13+:  A Big Mistake, aired yesterday.  You can view it and all the other episodes at www.thebicyclist.tv.  Season One is almost wrapped, so show your support by viewing the episodes and writing the producers to tell them how much you love it or hate it.  :)  Three of the characters from the bicyclist now have myspace pages.  Check out Steve's page and add her as a friend.

In other news, I filmed a Regional Commercial this past weekend for Les Schwab.  If you are in the Northwest you can view it in September!  Look for me slamming on the brakes.

John and I have been busying filming our first project together.  It is a short film titled "The Flowers of the Rifts" written and directed by John and produced by and starring me.  It will be viewed at the HP Lovecraft Film Festival in October.  We will be wrapped at the beginning of September.  It's been a great experience for both of us.  We've enjoyed working together so much that we are doing it again in October, filming an online webisode.  Stay tuned for more info on that!

Last night my friends and I went to see the film "Once" at the Fox Tower downtown.  I recommend this film to everyone.  It's going on my all time top list.  Simple, beautiful, heartfelt, authentic.  I love the music!  This isn't your normal musical.  No glitz and glamour.  It's been so long since I've seen a real love story on film.  Most films about love these days are comedies or romantic comedies.  fluff.  I'm not saying that a love story can't be funny or that it has to be filled with drama.  On the contrary, "Once" is natural and real, easy and complicated at the same time and it has moments of laughter.  Go see it before i say too much!  You can see a trailer here.  Here's a still from the movie:

Breaking Both Legs

I've been busy!  I'm currently producing and starring in a short horror film titled, "The Flowers of the Rifts".  It's written and directed by John Broxton.  We started filming last weekend and it went great!  Producing this film reminds me of when i had a theater company in Corvallis, Oregon.  I wore many hats.  Acting, directing, marketing, costuming, etc....  With this film I'm doing less than I did with the theater company, but it feels the same.  It has a similar energy.  I guess I've been acting for so long I forgot what it's like to do the rest.  But, I love it!  I love it all!

Not only has producing been fun but I have been having a great time acting!  The director, John Broxton, is one of the best directors I've worked with.  He really is an actors' director.  We had three rehearsals last week for the scenes we shot this past weekend.  He was prepared, invested, interested in our thoughts and suggestions and he asked us questions about our characters.  He really fostered a collaborative environment while remaining the leader.  The other actress, Danielle Ross, and myself felt at ease and ready to film!  We felt comfortable, prepared and confident with our performances.

Not only was the acting and directing superb, but the crew rocked as well.  Sal Collura is the DP and Christina Drop is the Make up Artist.  Both were professional and fun individuals.  We continue shooting this weekend with rehearsals tonight, Wednesday and Thursday.  I also have to find time to buy food and costumes for the shoot while working a full time job.  yikes!  I dream of the day where I only work in the film and theater community!

Other Updates:  "The Bicyclist"  continues to gain audience and the writing, acting and directing keeps getting better!  We are all really proud of the work we have done.  It continues to be a blast!  Episode 12 is up for viewing and another mini-episode will be up this Thursday.  I've been working on a myspace page for "Steve".  I hope to have it up soon.

I've gone to many auditions and many callbacks this summer.  I had a callback for the movie "The Trail" and an audition for the movie "ASL".  This Thursday I have an audition for Nintendo.  I hope i break both legs!

I have my photos and resume up on imdb now.  Check it out!

The update that is long over due

First of all I apologize for not blogging recently.  Thank you for continuing to view my website and blog regardless.

Life as an actress has been busy as always...

I continue to film "The Bicyclist".  Episode Ten is up today!  Click here to view it.  We filmed episode 11 last weekend and had such a blast.  It's an over the top comedic episode, which is so fun!  I so enjoy letting go and being silly.  Not only did we laugh at ourselves and fellow actors, but the individuals who walked into our set because they were too high to know what was going on.  One woman had no idea where she was.  All she wanted was to find Tray-tray and get some weed.  If you ever see me ask me to do an impression of her.  I think Lissa has it on video.  Oh, it was too funny!  The guy who invaded our set wasn't as funny.  The joys of filming on location.

I'm happy to report that the writers of "The Bicyclist" have changed the format starting with episode 10.  Now, each episode will  have its own arch, instead of the three-episode arch of previous episodes.  This will make for more interesting episodes and stories will wrap up quicker.

I've also been cast in another webisode titled "Starving Art".  I'm not sure if I have liberty to talk about the show yet, but it too will be a situational comedy.  I have a really good feeling about this from speaking with the director.  The rehearsals will be more like theater rehearsals where you spend a lot of time as an ensemble getting to know your character as well as the others and creating this world that you inhabit.  Fun, fun, fun!!  I love exploration!

I've had a few auditions and callbacks.  I was called back for a play with Miracle Theater.  I didn't get the role, but i was happy with the auditions.  The director was very nice and complementary as was the lead/artistic director.  So, maybe they will call me in for a future production.  I also had a great audition for a feature film titled "The Trail".  It went really well, but i haven't heard from them.  The last i heard from my agent was they were still in first reads.  So we shall see....

I will be posting some behind the scenes "Bicyclist" pics and also some stills from the short i shot months ago, L.E.A.D., so stayed tuned...

And of course we are still filming "Recovery", a.k.a. the movie that never ends.
